Default Need advice finding quality above ground pool 33 x 18 in SE Pa.

Hi, first off just got back from local deal and he states aluminum is the best to buy, he wants to sell me a Swim n Play Oxford, or Fairfield and Coliseum by Wilbar, all aluminum pools.
He states they are the best. He is including a micro media sand filter, mamba cleaner, steps, start up items, etc.
I thought his prices were a little high, he stated $8,600 for the Swim n Play Oxford installed, which was his cheapest pool.
I want to find a QUALITY above ground pool, buy it from a distributor and sub the install out to an experienced installer. Figure I can save a couple grande that way.
But I do not know what kind is best?
I see galvanized steel, resin, aluminum.
I want my pool to last about 25 yrs. or longer.
I am also in Gilbertsville, Pa.
My yard where it will sit is relatively flat, so wont be difficult.
I also want to buy a solar panel to heat, I saw one on Leslies for $249.
    Any help much appreciated!

Default Noob has some questions regarding above ground pool

Hi, looking to buy a 33 x 18 AG pool. Don't know what co. to buy or what material. Just talked to 2 dealers in the past 2 days. Local dealer only sells aluminum and states they are best made by Wilbar. The other guy sells Doughboy and states they are best, they are coated steel. I can get the Wilbar, Oxford for $8,500 installed and complete package with filter, accessories, etc.
The Doughboy Palm Shore is about 7,500 just for the pool alone.
I do want a good quality, lasting pool, so I am willing to pay a couple K extra for quality.
Just not sure the right decision, im a noob!!
I am in SE Pa. 30 miles northwest of Philly.
I did find an installer that will charge me approx. $1300 for installation.
    Any help much appreciated!!

Hi, Mayhem, and welcome to the Pool Forum!

You started three threads all pretty much with the same content so I merged them all into one. Please only create one thread about a topic. The forum is pretty big already and it makes it very confusing when people are giving advice in multiple places.

    Thanks!

Mayhem, when new members make a post, it goes into a moderation queue until one of us approves it and mods it in. It may not be immediate, but we try and clear the queue multiple times per day.

Until your registration is upgraded, you can read in the other areas if you log out first. If you find posts written by either PoolDoc or me, you can use the google search in our signatures to search through posts on the forum and also on our sister website www.poolsolutions.com.

    Hope this helps!
