New to pools, especially saltwater. I'll try not to flood the market with a thousand questions that have been asked 10,000 time each.
I'm questioning whether the reading on my Hayward salt system is correct. Don't remember the exact model, but it's similar to their AquaRite system, but has no remote control feature. It currently reads 2800, but the few folks we've had over to our new house have complained a little about how salty the water is. This caught me by surprise as I was actually considering putting about 80# in to raise the salt level! I personally don't think it's any higher than any of the other salt pools I've been in.
How does one go about verifying the reading that's showing on the system? Sample to local pool store?
I've been able to keep ph, Cl, and Ca in line......so far! Only using test strips. Been thinking about a K2006 tester, plus the add-on for checking salt. Especially since the local pool store isn't so local any more.
if it helps - the pool is an IG, approx. 20,000g with pentair 420 cartridge filter + Polaris 3900
