Yup. The idea is that areation of the water releases the co2 formed by the acid's reaction with the alk in the water. That will raise your pH, to which you can add more acid to drop the alk further if you so desire. It just takes some time, so you'll have to be patient.

I also have a lighted pool jet, which shoots sideways, and I have it turned up on the angle to blow the water causing spashing and ripples which could areate the water I believe.
The wife was out there and almost fell asleep listening to it, I may talk her into the pond yet. I really want a pond.
