Default in line shut off valve?

I used the search function, so please forgive me if I missed this...I have a splash pool AG with hayward/starite filter system. when I got the kit it had a really nice ball valve the went in line with the line to the pump. I believe that the company that did some prep work and install for me kept it. (can't prove it, but it's gone...) I want one because in order to clean the skimmer basket on my pump, I need to
    1. get out of the pool to shut off the pump.
    2. get back into the pool to put the drain plug into the out line.
    3. get out to clean the debris.
    4. get back into the pool to remove the plugs...and
5 get back out to turn the pump back on...

the ball valve that I recall was the size of a mini-basketball and had a large red handle for open/closed. any ideas where i can find one? Amazon, et al searches haven't been fruitfull and my legs are chiseled from so many stairs...
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
