Default eyeball points down ok to stop my solar cover from spinning?

I noticed my solar cover spinning like a record this morning. I dont have the steps in yet which helped it pretty much stay still last year. I was concerned that over time the solar cover could wear or weaken the vinyl. Is there any negative to pointing the eyeball down (other than it not putting any debri in the middle which the spin seems to do)?

Pointing your eyeballs down is fine. In fact, it can help distribute the heat better in the deep end. The only down side is that the skimmers might not work as well.
