    Default Trouble balancing pool

About 1 week ago pool was green. I have been running pump 24/7 ever since. I have also kept my chlorine level between 20 - 25 during that time. As of now the pool is blue, but cloudy. The part that is troubling is that all of last year my CYA level was around 80 - 90. Now it is a lot lower this year. I realize that it will drop some due to backwashing and re-filling, but according to the black dot test I am guessing CYA levels are around 40 - 50. But when I took a water sample in today to my local pool supply store they told me it was at 12.

Should I be concerned? Would the high chlorine levels cause my test and their test to be off? What should I do. I was about ready to let my chlorine levels come back down since all the green is gone, but I am not sure now.

    Current readings:
    FC: 22
    CC: 0
    PH: 7.4
    Alk: 111
CYA: Not sure?? I guess somewhere between 12 and 50.

    Trust your own CYA reading.

Test your chlorine in the evening after the sun is off the pool. Test it again the next morning within one hour of sunrise. See how much chlorine you are losing overnight and report it. Keep running your pump 24/7.
