Default Pool Pump and SWG Timer Question

I am installing a timer for my pool pump and I am wondering if people with a salt water generator, switch the controller off and on with pump or just switch the pump off and let the no flow switch shut the controller down.

It is recommended to wire the swg to the same terminals as the pump, so both are powered on and off at the same time. Wiring it so that the flow switch is your primary protection leaves the opportunity for a hydrogen gas accident to occur if the flow switch should happen to fail.
