I have an aquarite SWG. This is my first season with it and I am just starting it up. I have been running the SWG for a week and I do not believe it is generating any chlorine. I have been adding chlorine via the granules I have left over from last year just about every day.
Here are the details:
I run my filter 12 hours a day: 6 hours late at night and six hours in the morning (enough to turn my water over 1-3/4 to 2 times per day). Every morning after running the filter for 6 hours overnight, I check the chlorine and it is usually 0.5 fc, 0 cc, 0.5 tc. I then add enough chlorine granules to bring it up to at least 5 ppm. The next morning I am back to either 0 or 0.5 fc again. The rest of my readings are:
Alk 110
Cal 220
Ph 7.2
CYA 50
Salt 2900-3000 ppm
27,000 gallons volume
I started the Aquarite at 50% output and have gradually been increasing it. I currently have the Aquarite set to 90% output. The typical readout on my aqualogic for the Aquarite Chlorine generator during its ON cycle is:
26.27 Volts
6.44 Amps
83 Degrees F
2900 ppm Salt
Any ideas? Is there anyway to verify the chlorine output. From what I have read the cell should get warm when it is generating chlorine. My unit does not seem to get warm at all.
Pat.
