    Im interested in this as well so just to clarify(for my peace of mind) it is fine to use trichlor in a feeder then add bleach to the pool when necessary, correct? Would you turn the feeder off during the bleach adding process.

    if you have an inline feeder just don't add the bleach to the skimmer. pour it into the pool right in the stream of the return so the water starts to ciruclate it and dilute it then brush your pool to help mix it. Trichlor doesn't play well with other forms of chlorine and can react violently with them if mixed in concentrated forms. Once in the water it really doesn't matter. If you use a floater for the trichlor just take it out when you add the bleach and put it back in after you brush. Same applies to Cal Hypo ( the bags of unstabilzied chorine shock). Dissovle cal hypo in water and then put it into the pool. Be sure to brush very well after as it is very slow to dissolve and can bleach a vinyl liner if it falls on it undissolved.
