What you need to do is add acid to your pool til pH is between 7.2 and 7.8.
What did you shock the pool with and for how long? What is your CYA level?
I have a summer excapes 15'x42" pool w/ a SWCG. My Chlorine level is testing 3, my pH is testing 8.5, my total Alkalinity is testing 240 and copper is at 0.1. I've shocked the pool and water still seems to be cloudy. My question is my pool is about 4000 gallons, how much pH should I put in my pool? The chart on the bottle says 12 oz but is for a 10 gallon pool. Any suggestions?

Nit sure the cya level it's not on my test strips. I shocked it with aqua chem shock about 3 hours ago.
What is the ingredient in the shock? You need a kit that can test CYA. It is critical to know that level to know what chlorine levels are needed in your pool. (See the Best Guess Chlorine Chart in my signature below.) Without knowing that number, we are just guessing at how high you need your chlorine to be.
We don't trust test strips. We recommend that everyone have a good test kit and the one we encourage people to buy is the Taylor K-2006 or 2006C. (In my signature below.)
