cloudy water

I have almost no chlorine in my pool right now. I added some PH raising chemical and that turned the water cloudy. Is it ok to shock with chlorine?

Give us more information, please. Tell us what kind of pool it is, the volume, size of pump, type and size of filter and tell us exactly what all you have added to the water --- meaning ingredients and not just product names. Then, somebody here can try and help you.

I understand WHY you're doing things here the way you are, but there are better ways to block forum spammers. I run a VERY large Vbulletin forum (in a completely difference genre) and be happy to discuss options in private.

Right now, I just wish I could post about my caviation/suction air leak issues.....

It'd also be helpful if you could let new users "see" the forums even if they can't post. Having to log out just to get the access I had before registering is a bit odd.
