Shock level for a pool with a CYA of 70 is 20ppm. In a 21K gallon pool, each gallon (4 quarts) of 6% bleach will add about 3ppm of chlorine. Each gallon of 8.25% bleach will add 4ppm. Use that info to help you figure out how much chlorine to add each time you test to get the chlorine level back up to 20.

Is there debris on the floor to be vacuumed up? If so, then yes. You can also brush the floor and sides which will help the bleach kill the algae faster.

Should I get my CL up around 26-30 so it doesnt drop below 20 during the day when I am at work? I start the day at 20 or a little higher and its down to 16ish at night. Dont seem to be making much headway with the green.

Right! enough chlorine to keep the FC at or above shock level at all times.
