Question Is Baquacil REALLY not a good option for me?

    Hi, I'm new here . . .

We are getting a 12x24 AG pool partially buried on Saturday. We get a free starter kit for baquacil, and since the past couple of years I've had clorine issues (hair breaking, dry skin, etc) . . . I was actually looking forward to NOT having those issue. We have had a 15' round intex pool the last couple of years. But, all the reviews I've been reading talk about how much trouble Baquacil is, how bad it tastes, and how expensive it is. Is anyone out there happy with it?? Is it worth trying it out for one summer, or should I just ditch the first starter kit and go with BBB or Clorine? I figured the chemicals will cost me about $100 a month . . is that about right? What's a good estimate on how much the alternatives would cost me?

We don't like Baquacil around here. You can get by with way less than $100 dollars per month by just using bleach for your chlorine. While you are waiting for your pool, go ahead and do a bunch of reading on the forum, especially the stickies at the top of each sub-forum. (Until your registration is completed, you'll have to log out to be able to see the rest of the forum, though.) Also, read on our sister web-site www.poolsolutions.com. Then, come back with any specific questions you have.

Also, it is usually not a good idea to bury AG pools as the walls will corrode faster.
