Go ahead and use the dichlor but do try and get to Sam's soon so you can be sure you are using plain, unblended dichlor. What is Be? Bromine? If so, you don't have any bromine. You have a chlorine pool.

Hi I just finished setting up and filling my pool yesterday. I'm following the super simple intex chemistry recipe and I put in my first dose of dichlor last night. I'm using Leslie's Chlor Brite until I can get to Sams. I did my first tests this morning with the HTH 6 way drops and here are the results:
Ph 7.5
Cl 1
Be 2
Alk 100
Hard 140
Cya was totally clear with no cloudiness
Should I just carry on with the dichlor to raise the CYA or do I need to add extra?
Thanks
Jason

Ok thanks! One more question, do you just use the dichlor in the evening indefinitely or is there a point where you will use less?
You quit using dichlor and switch to bleach when your get your CYA where you want it. For most pools, we say CYA around 50 or so. One of the mods, Aylad, lives in hot Louisiana and intentionally runs her CYA at around 80. This causes her to have to keep her chlorine higher than most (see Best Guess Chlorine Chart in my signature above) but the upside is that she doesn't have to add bleach as often. You might try having your CYA around 50 and if you find that you are having trouble keeping chlorine in your pool, bump it up a little then. (If you do bump CYA up, you will HAVE to have a Taylor K-2006 or else you won't be able to test high chlorine levels. My advice is to go ahead and get one anyways. It is by far the best kit out there. See the link in my signature above.)
