    Default 10% sodium hyperchlorite

    Is 10% sodium hyperchlorite ok or does it need to be 12

    10% is fine. Even 8.25% or 6% bleach is fine if it is unscented and not "outdoor" or otherwise unusual in having thickeners in it. The only differences will be in the concentration. Sometimes bleach is more economical; other times chlorinating liquid is cheaper (per FC). Of course, the more concentrated product is less heavy to carry for the same amount of FC.

    I am actually using 5.25% bleach and have had great success with it. So 10% should be fine.

    It doesn't matter. All that matters is that ultimately you get enough chlorine in the water.
