    Question Patio stone leveling dilemma

Our 24' agp had to come down due to the wall rusting out all along the bottom along the with uprights. Don't ask, it was back filled.

I have everything removed and I decided to do a cursory check of the stones with a small torpedo level. It seems like a lot of the stones have slightly sank toward the center of the pool by 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. Do I have to reset all the stones again???

I am going to use my transit tomorrow to check level across the pool.

You may have answered your own question. You are using a transit to verify level of an existing pool "foundation". Would you be comfortable with the verticals 3/4" off plumb?

Good point. It's annoying to fix the blocks, but definitely easier than digging out that 21" of heavy wet clay.

Just my own curiosity, how are you planning to deal with the previously backfilled areas?

I am going to spend the extra money this time and install a stack stone retaining wall. The previous pool completely rusted through at the bottom. I didn't find much left of the bottom plates and wall track either. This was after 7 seasons.

The stones ended up being 1-1/4" off level across the width of the pool. Spent the day resetting the stones. I was surprised it had settled that much after only 7 years.
