We have the Poolvernuegen suction cleaner and it does a great job cleaning, but gets stuck on the bottom edge of the fiberglass steps. If it stays there too long, the skirts come loose, then the cleaner tries to suck them up and cleaning stops. I replaced them with the roller skirts, which advertised to sop the problem, but they did no. Snapping the skits back in repeatedly is tricky and eventually weakens the fitting. When the end fitting breaks you have to replace the whole one-piece lower housing. We have done this once, and now it has broken again. I see the housing is now selling for just under $300!!!! Crazy --- almost as much as a new cleaner. I would buy another one of these cleaners if I thought we could solve the step issue.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there something that could be done to the bottom edge of the steps to minimize the risk of the skirts catching there?
