    Default Need help leveling land

The ground where we decided to put a 14ft x 48 in intex pool was on a slope, so I dug out (by hand) the high side to be even with the lowest side. After setting the pool up, the water still runs downhill by about 2-3 inches. I have already took the pool down and re-dug twice, all with a level. Still runs downhill. Can't afford any fancy levels like a transit. Any ideas?

A 6ft 2x4 and a 4ft level will get you to within 1/4", if you are careful how centered the bubble is. Or you can go with Ben's idea of the water level http://www.deckmagazine.com/tools-an...ter-level.aspx.
