Hi
2nd year with a 10x36 intex pool. Last year we bought a pool end of June. Didn't have a clue what I was doing (still don't really). Used the start up kit we bought at toysrus but went away for 3 days in August and my sister didn't do a thing to it and the whole pool looked like a swamp (with cover on) when I got home. Even after draining it ....the pool itself was so bad that I ended up throwing it away and buying one in oct (online) super cheap. I have a bad back and couldn't imagine spending hours trying to clean it. I do NOT want this to happen again this yr and found this site a few days ago! I want to do it right this time!
First main question. We will be filling the pool with well water. We built this house 8yrs ago so the well was put in then. We have sulfur in our water and we have a massive and a ridiculously expensive water filtration system to deal with it. Since we use Chlorine in the system to take care of the sulfur my husband doesn't think the water will be a problem. Is he right?
Second question: last year I really struggled keeping debris (like the sand we used to level it) out of the pool. I bought a vacuum that attached to the filter. That thing basically broke and was HORRIBLE to use. I basically ended up running around and around in the pool to stir stuff up and then scoop it up. I did use a cover to warm the water up and keep stuff out but we got a lot of rain and it just got so gross at times. I found this pool blaster vacuum on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Water-Tech-Poo...s=pool+blaster. Its $139 ...my husband will probably kill me if I bought that. Is there ANYTHING like it out there that works kinda like that but isn't as expensive? That is almost double what I paid for the pool!
We are planning to set the pool up this afternoon after we get a few bags of sand to level the spot again!
Hoping between this forum and learning from last year we can have a better season!
TIA for answering my questions!
