Bought a foreclosure in February, moved in in April. Inherited a 16'x32' IG pool with shredded cover. Assuming it hadn't been maintained for at least one or two seasons. After removing the cover, a couple bricks, a tree branch and lots and lots of leaves, replacing the pump, filter multi-port valve and fixing a few leaks, I now have the filter running 24/7 and working on the chemical levels. I just received my Taylor k-2006 a couple hours ago. Before that I was just using some 4-way test strips I had. I started two nights ago with bleach and some left over ph up I had from a hot tub at our last house. Started off with 460 oz of 8.25% per poolcalculator.com to get to 15 FC. Although limited by the strips, I guesstimated I needed 360 the next morning to get it back to 15. This morning I only added 120 oz (still 8.25%).
Anyway here are the results I got this afternoon: 16 FC 3.5 CC 7.5 ph 100 TA 70 CYA. I was surprised at the CYA seeing how it hasn't been maintained for so long.

Still can't see more than a foot or two. And there is a foam or something on the surface.
