Default Is there an advantage to rewiring pump motor for 220 ??

Moved into a home with a pool and the pump is wired for 110. I've always thought that pools and spas were wired for 220. Is there any advantage to rewiring the pools 1.5 HP motor for 220 ??
    Thanks

Not really. Motor efficiency is the same. The only difference is in the wiring and breaker feeding the motor but that should have been sized for 110v.
