Good day.

I have an in ground swimming pool. Our pool returns were originally positioned as if you'd taken a PVC pipe and cut it into the shape of spear or syringe. The effect was that they are nearly invisible and originally caused a nice whirlpool effect pushing all the stuff on top directly into our weir. There were not return inlets, just 'shaped concrete'. I am emailing a photo (the best photo I can manage) to the email address mentioned in the New User thread.

We had the pool resurfaced in September. One of two issues that resulted is that the returns are now squared off so they no longer aim the direction that results in a whirlpool and in fact, push all debris away from the side and thus the weir.

As the pipe feeding the return is approx 1/2 inch and at such a drastic angle, there's been little I could do to attach a directional return fitting.

Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

Some additional notes. There is approx 1/2 thick of extra concrete where they filled in the gradual return path. Think huge glob of goo.

Any help, input or direction will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
