I thought I had maintained my chlorine levels during the winter but when I finally pulled both the net and cover off I was greeted with a dark green mess.

Having dealt with green water last summer I pulled out my Taylor test kit and got the ph back down to 7.4 (it always want to go to +8 for some reason) and started dumping in copious amounts of bleach along with some Kem-tek dichlor powder to add stabilizer (as recommended here) because the cya was at 30. I ran out of reagent for cya so not sure what it's reading now. Been trying to keep the FC levels up around 20 but it drops to around 12 by each evening.

I've been sweeping the pool (which makes me have to clean the filters twice a day as the pressure goes from 20 to 35 in about 6 hours). I don't want to run the pump at night because I'm afraid the pressure will go too high unattended.

On a side note, I went to buy more bleach yesterday but regular Clorox seems to be sold out everywhere here in Vegas. I ended up buying Ken-Tek's Chlorinating Liquid at Lowes. At $6.86 a box (2 gallons) it seems a good alternative. The last large size bottle of Clorox I bought was about $4.60. Btw, Amazon's price for a quart of cya reagent is double that of Taylor's online store, which is surprising because Amazon usually has the cheapest prices on everything.
