    Oh yea, pH.
    Muriatic Acid lowers pH with the least side effects. Please read and understand Using Muriatic Acid to Safely Lower Your Pool's pH. It would be best to lower the pH before starting the shock process as shock level FC can yeild falsely high pH readings.
