Check Valve

Do they normally install a check valve from the pump to the return line? There is one built into my brominator but Im switching to chlorine and wont be using the brominator any longer.

If you have a heater and an inline chlorinator, you would definitely want a check valve. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the help, your answer gave me a follow up question. Its my brothers pool and were switching from bromine to chlorine. We were just going to go with a floating chlorinator but his inline brominator also says "trichlor" on it. Could we just put the chlorine tablets in that and skip the floater? Its the kind of inline container that you just dump the tablets in and set the dial to the desired amount.

It seems to me that a thorough cleaning should allow you to re use however I'm not sure. You may want to start a new thread in the Chlorine Feeders section.
