    Default Oval Install Question

I am getting ready to install a 15'x30' oval pool with buttresses. I talked to some installers and they said they would level the ground and add several inches of sand and then bury the buttresses in the sand. The directions say to bury buttresses in dirt then add sand to level inside. Does it matter which way this is done?

It does matter. As I understand it (I'm not a pool installer) the pool's structure must be built on level compacted soil. Sand can easily wash away and if the pool structure sits on sand it could fail in a heavy rainstorm.
