    I shock if my cc is above .5, or after I've had lots of kids swimming, or weekly if I've had a large swimmer load during the week, or after a heavy rainstorm. It won't hurt to shock once a week, it's just not always necessary.

    Also, I would believe the dpd/fas kit over the oto anytime--the oto is only giving you a ballpark.

    Thanks for the info. My cya is about 80 so my shock level is 20ppm. How soon does it come down, I cant imagine swimming next day. when I add bleach now it lasts a good two days at between 5 and 7.
    25000 IG gunite.
