If there is a large amount on the bottom that you can see I would vacuum all of that to waste/drain first.
I would then run the polaris with a sand/silt bag in place (not the all purpose bag).
My cloudy blue water is clearing up, and it seems that I have dead algae on the bottom of the pool. I have a Polaris 380. Is this an effective device for picking up the algae? Or should I use a "hose vaccum" that uses the skimmer ports? Or do I have to just brush the bottom of the pool?
Along these lines, is it best to keep running the filter 24/7 or should you shut it off for a while to let the particles settle to the bottom? Thanks.
Paul
