    Default mosquito larvae Huge Problem!

Hi folks. Just took the cover off the pool today! To my suprise the pool has millions of mosquito larvae. Now this is a 24' above ground pool! I am not sure what to do. Reading some other forums it is my understanding that chlorine will not kill them. I am not sure why this happened. We have had the pool for 3 years and never had this problem before. The weather has been rainy then hot then rainy and warm but just not nice enough to open the pool until today. I have always kept the standing water off the top of the cover and did a thourough cleaning and used the closing kit before winter. Any suggestions would be great. I am afraid to even let the kids swim in it even after I get this problem cleared up if I ever do!!!!

I certainly wouln't let the kids into it until you get the mosquito larvae gone--if they're living in it, there's no telling what else is living there too!!

Shock your pool, hold it there for a couple of days, and they'll die.
