Hang in there!! It's not supposed to be here until late tonight into tomorrow, but the majority of it is supposed to get us tomorrow during the day. Just moving my pool furniture, toys, etc out of the way today while it's still nice and sunny![]()

Well, wind is picking up, although it's not supposed to be here for another few hours. Pool is shocked, patio furniture and toys stowed away--now we'll just see how it goes from here. JWhouse, check in when you can....I see it's pretty bad down there.....
Are you guys okay? Let us know (when your power comes back on, that is)

Well, power back on, luckily, and everyone made it through the storm unscathed. At least this was the case in my house. There are many others that weren't as fortunate. I have some pictures of some of the high water. I'll put them up on the web and add a link in this thread when they are up. In some places the water was well over the running boards of our 4x4 pickup and it has a small lift on it. The water was somewhere around 3-3.5 feet deep in some areas. CRAZY.
Wind's weren't completely off the charts. It got bad for a little while but it was nothing like Gustav. We didn't lose a single tree.
Pool fared pretty well also. There is a LOT of leaf debris in it and 1 small branch around half an inch in diameter in it. I have removed the branch and about 75 percent of the debris. Will attempt to vacuum this afternoon to get the rest of it out.
Overall, not bad except for the amount of water it dropped. Janet, how are y'all? It appeared on radar that Shreveport was to the west of the center of circulation. Probably very little rainfall but some wind. Let me know how you are.

yup, water is pretty cold here, too!! Our school board jumped the gun on Wednesday and canceled school for Thurs and Fri....the winds got pretty strong at times, but it was in spurts, just like jwhouse described. Lost 3 shingles off the house, but we didn't even get 2" of rain.....it's pretty sad, but my koi pond water level was low, so I left it alone, figuring Isaac would fill it for me, and I actually had to top it off from the hose today!! What rain we got was in the form of blowing mist more than anything. My youngest and her friends down the street spent the day playing in itWe were very, very lucky though, compared to the folks on the Eastern side of the storm. Unfortunately, there was an immense amount of damage from the tornadoes that spawned off as Isaac fell apart. I'm afraid they're in for a whole lot of work to reconstruct.....
