Default New Pool being built SE Pennsylvania

Hi all, we are currently having a pool built and I am a nervous wreck.

They hit water so we now have a sump pump running 24/7. They did shotcrete last Wednesday. How long should pump run, one worker commented that the pool could "float right out of the ground!" Another said to shut the pump off after a few days, but I am afraid to do that until it's filled! I'm just so anxious to get to the end phase of this. I am hoping to find a lot of help on this forum (at least to help me keep my sanity during this construction!)

    Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to the forum!!

I don't know anything about pool construction....but I do know that until the pool has at least 2-3 feet of water in its shallowest point (and maybe even more), then it is in danger of floating if the water table is too high, which it sounds like yours is. I'm sure one of the others will chime in, but I personally would leave the pump running until it's at least halfway filled!

We're not at your pool site, so you are really going to have to trust your builder about this. There's not much advice we can offer from here.
