    Default Leaky Return

    Hey -

Just finished my AGP install, finally

It's pretty good, except I've got a leak on my return:

It's only a drop or two every few seconds, so nothing major. I can't notice anything causing the leak, and I've tightend the return nut.

The block of wood is there to support the salt cell, as it seems to be putting stress because it's not supported.

The only thing I can think, is I think I forgot to put that white tape around the big grey nut. Could that be it? If it is, do I have to drain my pool to the return to take it off and re-tape?

Any ideas how to figure this out/fix it?

    Thanks,
    Brad

Try tightening the nut one flat. If that doesn't work, you can try this:

If the water isn't too cold, try having someone in the pool, holding a large bowl over the return, while you work on it from the outside.

If it turns out that you don't have the rubber sealing washer on the inside of the pool, you can still use the bowl routine, but you will lose a little water while you quickly move the bowl long enough to slip the washer into place.

THanks Charlie -...I've tightened that return quite a bit, and there is a rubber seal around it.

Never thought of the bowl idea...so I will do that and put some teflon tape around the nut...
