    Default Pool Algae

    Have a algae problem that won't go away. I have a 18 x 33 above ground pool holds 15,550 gallons water. I use the pristine chemicals.I have spent so much money on chemicals vacuum pool to waste still algae comes back.Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi, and welcome to the forum!!

    We'll be glad to help you get it cleaned up, but to do that we need a set of drop-based (no strips!) test results on your water, and a list of what you've put into the pool (ingredients, not product names like "shock").

    membership upgraded . . . but if you're using Pristine Blue, conversion can result in stains if you aren't careful.

    As Janet told you, valid test results are essential to a clean conversion AND to cleaning up the algae.

    Stickbox, not sure about your water cost or if you're on a well but it might be more cost effective for you to drain and refill. It cost me about 55 bucks in city water to fill my 30 foot AG pool this year. Where are you close to? I live close to Hammond.
