No, not if it is 6.8 - 7 is neutral - if it bothers you, then you can take it up to 7, by adding a little borax. You will get your pool nice and stain free - Just make sure you keep your ph on the low side when you start to balance the water after the stains are gone. High ph along with high chlorine is what makes the metals fall out of the water, so I always keep the ph low when raising the clorine, if I see some stain start to come back, then I add some more sequestering agent.
