    Default adding baking soda

When adding baking soda to rise Alkalinity do I just dump it in the deep end and spread around like acid or in the skimmer?

    Thanks

I've only done it in the skimmer. Dissolves quite rapidly.

I just add it to the skimmer. I add 1 lb, wait a while (like a day), test, and add another lb if it needs it. I'd rather get to my target slowly than over shoot it. Once T/A passes 100ppm, I stop.

if you dump it in the pool brush throroughly afterward to help dissolve it. You can pour it into the skimmer if you like or you can dissolve it in a bucket of pool water and broadcast it over the surface of the water. wait about 24 to 48 hours before testing the ALK level since you need to give it time to dissolve completely and incorperate into the buffer system in the water.
