I moved my multiport valve from backwash to filter while the pump was running on low. Totally did it by accident. I have never done it before - ever. 2 seconds later pump shut off, and now won't turn back on. I checked the breaker but it's not tripped. Did I just break my pump?! Did it overheat or something? Will it come back to life? Freaking out right now.

I doubt the pump overheated in two seconds. Maybe open the multiport and see if something broke inside it that is blocking flow?

So, yesterday the pump came back on, but then shut off again shortly after. I haven't been able to get it started again. Thing is shot. One absent minded mistake and the thing fries? It keeps tripping the GFCI. I ran an extension cord to another GFCI outside of my house, and it tripped that too. These are on separate circuits too. I'm so pissed at myself right now for doing this.

Anyone ever deal with Hayward for warranty? I've only had the thing for a few months. This is my first season with a pool.

    EDIT: to remove inappropriate slang
