How long do you typically backwash when using a sand filter?

Hi, Paul,

Ideally, you have a sight glass and can see the water turn reasonably clear as it goes thru. If not, look at the waste water wherever you can see it and, when it mostly clears, you're done.

Mine takes somewhere around a minute more or less.
