Default Used Splash Super Pool or ebay Legacy pool, Round or Rectangle???

We have had an Intex 15' frame-set pool the last 2 years. It's been great fun for the kids, and even for us! I purchased an upgraded Pentair filter/pump for the Intex the first year. I've been thinking of upgrading to a higher quality pool, still not sure about going with another round one of with a rectangle. We do plan to take it down for the winters.

I've been looking at KD and other higher quality frame style pools. I've found a Legacy pool on ebay (pool only) for around $750 (plus shipping) that I was tempted to buy. If my pentair would work, I'd still need to get a ladder, and other accessories.

I've come across a 3 year old Splash Superpool (13'x18') with a 1 year old sand filter, and all of the accessories for around $1500. I've seen these pools at a local dealer and they look great.

So, would you recommend the new Legacy pool or the used Splash pool? Also, any comments on round vs. rectangle? the 13'x18' is probably the biggest we could do. Even looked at 9'x18', but that just seems like it would be too cramped.

    HELP!

If you have done your research on brands and everything there being equal, why not go for the biggest you can get INCLUDING the accessories needed for the money? You don't say how big the Legacy frame pool is - I'm not familiar with Legacy frame pools so can't comment on those. The Splash pools actually are reported to be "winter hardy" and do not need to be taken down. Are you looking for a pool that you CAN take down each year because you HAVE to?? Putting them up and taking them down each year gets old...been there done that for 8 years.

Maybe give some more details on the Legacy pool. Let us know what you decide

The Legacy pool is made by Portable pools inc. It's the same size.

I'm really trying to decide if $1500 is too much for a 3 year old Splash Superpool. They look like great pools.

Also, any comments on round (15') vs rectangle (13'x18')

    Thanks

I just have to wonder why anyone would tear down and set up a pool every year. I would go insane. It would get old in a hurry.

I have heard that the Splash pools are very good quality and CAN be left up in the winter if you want - they are reported to have one heck of a warranty on them for a soft side pool (20 years) so I would guess they are really well made and would probably last a long time. How deep is the Splash pool you are looking at 52 or 48"? I myself would go for the rectangle just because it appears to be larger (maybe they have the same gallons?)

I Googled the Legacy pool and they have a 2 yr repair or replace warranty

(Sevver - There are a lot of reasons people want or need to have a softside pool. We had a softside for many years, for us it was because we had to drive through the area in the winter for our wood boiler - until we took out a new section of woods to expand our yard - because it DID get old for me, the one doing the work LOL)

Thanks for the responses. The splash does seem to have a great warranty, so that says something about the quality.

Our yard is not very big, and my husband isn't crazy about having the pool back there for 3 months as it is. It's either summer only, or no pool!
