    Default Loosing suction

I prime my pump with water, turn it on and the skimmers start to work just fine, water is being sucked in. Within a few minutes the water being sucked in is down to a dribble and their is no water being sucked in at the skimmers. Water level is good. The motor is still running, but no water moving...

Is the pump losing prime? Is there air in the pump basket?

    Hardley,

When you turn on your pump, the top to the pump basket will tighten as the pressure builds. Once the pressure levels off, try and loosen the top to the pump basket slightly so a little bit of air can get in. A little bit of air will help circulate the water in the pump basket. If you loosen the top too much, you will lose prime.

Once you play around with how much to loosen the top, take notice of the top's position for future reference. I mostly need to do this when I hook up the vacuum to the skimmer.

yes there is water in the pump basket. I will try loosening the sight glass top on the pump basket in the morning to see how that works.
    Thanks
