Unhappy Tunneling rodents under above grnd pool liner

How do you prevent moles from tunneling under your liner and causing deep ruts in pool bottom

Funny how things change from year to year. Something about this year has brought the moles out; we've had more questions this year, then in all previous years combined.

As far as we can tell, the only solution is to kill them. Amazon has some traps, but I'm not going to link them, because some folk (including here) get pretty passionate about not killing anything with legs and fur.

Any ideas on prevention, some kind of reinforcement under liner.

Some locals have suggested 2" of crusher dust below sand.

Hadn't thought of that, but you could probably create an effective barrier. However, I have no idea how deep you'd have to go, OR whether they will tunnel through rock dust.

You could check with a local exterminator.

Or, if I were going to try, I think I'd get something like the 6 x 12 patio blocks, and bury those 7" deep in a border around the pool - so the block was under 1" dirt. You'd need to be careful that the blocks touched each other tightly! Again, a local exterminator might have ideas about how best to do that.
