Building ---New Pool Suggestions for heating

New here. We will be building/constructing a new pool. What do you suggest is the best option to heat a pool in the central Florida area and it will be used year round? Spa will be attached.

If it was just a pool, I would suggest solar heat but I'm not sure if that will raise the temp in your spa enough. My guess is probably not. Hopefully someone else will chime in here soon with other thoughts on the matter.

I am in Clearwater, FL. We use both, a gas heater in the winter to quickly heat up the spa and a solar heater to heat the spa in the summer and to extend the swimming season by about 3 month total. (In the colder month we have to use a blanket to hold the solar heat in the pool over night.)

We are still very happy about both investments.

I hope that one day I will be able to use the heat coming out of the house AC....

Heat Pump is your best choice for a pool/spa combo. I live in North Fl and use a heat pump to heat both the pool and spa. If you get into close to freezing conditions you will want a reverse cycle one. As a bonus it will also cool the pool in the heat of summer BUT the main reason is that it will allow the unit to operate into freezing conditions without the coils freezing up. I would look into the units made by AquaCal (a Florida based company so they know the climate here well.)
