Default Should inground vinyl liner be flat against pool side?

We had a new inground vinyl liner installed. The pool is now filled, but the liner is not flat against the sides of the pool wall on top. Should it be flat against the wall?

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

My liner, and every other one that I've seen, is flat against the wall over all surfaces of the pool, unless there's a water leak somewhere. Can you take pics of what you mean, and either post them here via photobucket, flickr, or other site so the folks here with installation experience can help?

I have a similar situation with my above-ground liner pool.

On one of the long sides of the oval above the water line the liner is not flat against the wall. It appears that the installers did not suck out all the air when they installed the liner. It's been like this for 7 years without problems.

    From my post above:

That is incorrect and a complete misunderstanding on my part with regard to why they use vacuum suction during installation. In my particular case it likely is an ill-fitting liner.
