    Default frustrated!!

IIn the last 24 hours, I have used washing soda and HTH Super Shock. My chemicals, using a test strip & chart, are all reading in the "ideal" range except the PH which is now 8.4 (previously 6.4) How can I lower this without changing the rest of the levels. Using household products if possible. On a tight budget. Thanks in advance.

It would probably be best if you posted a complete set of current water testing results taken with a drops-based kit --- no test strips. Then we can better advise you. You use muriatic acid to lower pH but if you have a high chlorine reading, you will often get a falsely high pH reading.

Please post your pool's information in our pool chart to make it easier for someone here to help you.

Also, tell us exactly what all ingredients you have put in your pool -- meaning ingredients.
