    Exclamation Big problem! Need help!

    Hi Everyone!

I am a newbie to this forum and I need some help. We just finished a huge landscape makeover. I just had the pool acid washed and I bought a Pentair SAM light to go in the pool. The guy came to install it while the pool was empty and he couldn't get the cable to budge. He said there is probably a kink in the conduit somewhere and I would need to rip up my brand new concrete in order to fix it! Please tell me there is another way! He tried squirting WD40 but still nothing. I can't imagine this new beautiful yard with no light in the pool. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks!

If your old light has been there for awhile and the conduit installed was less than 1" in size then it could be that the cord has expanded. If that is the case you can try to pull on the cord from the junction box side and see if it budges. If it does then cut off the light and pull the cord from the junction box. If not then see if you can dislodged the cord by pulling a little one way then a little the other way. Also check to see if someone has stuffed epoxy pool putty into the back of the niche around the light cord. If someone has then carefully chip it out. Hope this helps.

    Kellyb,
Do you have a diving board? There was one post on this forum with a simular problem and a junction box was found under the diving board. Just a thought.
