I must say that this forum was very helpful in getting my pool back in balance. My cya was well over 300 and it was always getting cloudy. It took me 5 years to figure out why and after i switched to the bbb method it was fine. i was all excited to open my pool for the first time this spring to crystal clear water. Unfortunatly my wife is divorcing me and the pool is no longer mine. After a year on this forum i threw away my inline clorinater and switched to bleach. lowered my cya and used borax. I convinced her to let me open it( i begged her) it was beautiful. Then things got ugly. She hired a guy and paid him $1500 to mantain it throughout the summer. As i went back and forth between houses, I snooped in the pool. Holy crap. The first day he showed up he put 6 trichlor 3 " pucks in the skimmer. I took them out. After everything i told her about what i learned was disregarded. Today i snooped and now theres an inline chlorinator with trichlor in it. O well its still crystal clear. I cant figure that one out . Thats my story and goodbye to the pool forum.

    Shub,
I'm sorry you are facing some difficult things in your personal life, however, the Pool Forum is not the place to vent. We were happy to help you last year as you were learning to care for your pool. In the future, if you have questions we can help you with in regards to a pool, we'll still be here.

    Best wishes to you.
