    Cool Weekly Shock

Ok my chlorine and PH levels are right on, and I have not added any weekly shock for aprox. 2- 2 1/2 weeks since my chlorine level is perfect. NOw my pool place told me to add this weekly shock every week, I just dont see adding the shock when my chlorine is stable. I know growing up my dad never added weekly shock to his pool. Just wondering your thoughts on this.

Generally, there's no reason to shock unless you're losing more than 1 ppm of chlorine overnight, or your CC is above 1 ppm. However, we really can't give you any useful information about whether your pool needs to be shocked without seeing a set of test results.
