    Default Pump Help

    Looking for a little advice.

I need to change out my pump; I have been looking at the Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed pump (SP3400VSP). I was told Hayward was the name to trust.

After getting of the phone with a local Hayward dealer he is recommending a Pentair Intellifo VF.

Anyone have any experience with either?

    Thanks.

You will probably get a lot of opinions either way but from what I can tell, Pentair has the better reputation of the two. Plus the Intelliflo has been in the field a lot longer than the EcoStar.

However, if you already have a controller, I would go with the one that is compatible because that is a big plus and can reduce the total cost. If you don't have a controller, then I would recommend the Intelliflo 011018 as it has a built in controller and a great price point.
