If I'm not mistaken, gunite is a form of concrete--and if that's true, then you need a calcium level of at least 200-400 to keep the water from leaching the calcium out of the concrete...
Drained pool 3 weeks ago because of streaks of what might be calcium. They would flake off with a scraper & dissolve. Had the entire pool buffed and all the streaks removed. Now, 3 weeks later, they are returning.
After filling the pool, I have maintained all the chemicals at the following levels since refilling.
P.H. has always been 7.6 to 7.8. Alk. is 100. CYA is 30. Ca is 200. Chlorine is 3.
Do I have to much CA, or not enough. Temp. is 88.
This is a 10,000 Gal. Gunite, Jandy SWG pool. Salt is 3200. Hayward sand filter & ultra-flow pump.
This is the worst problem I have had in this pools 14 year life.
Thank's for any help someone could provide.........
