Default Tired of Buying Pool Covers that don't last

Is their any pool covers out there that last more than 3-4 years before they get hard and brittle. I have a semi automatic pool cover that if I don't replace the cover it will damage the gears on the mechanism. Pool is 16 x 40 and slides down a grove on each side with a roller on the end. Thanks

I don't know your location, but here in a frozen winter climate, I have tried the top rated, most expensive, and it doesn't seem to matter a heck of a lot. The last one I bought was a cheaper one and am just resigned to replacing it after a few years.

I don't use covers on my pool, but the general consensus I've seen around this forum is that they're good for 2-3 years, no matter whether you buy the expensive or the cheap ones.
