Default Pool open with winter cover on??

I'm in Massachusetts and its still on the cool side (not to mention the buds still dropping from trees) to completly open the pool. Is it ok to run the pump (I cleaned it and put the bleach in this weekend) with the winter cover on for a few more weeks?

    I/G Vinyl 15K

    Thanks.

No Problem with doing that. Is your cover solid or mesh?

It's mesh - I figured it would be ok but I wasn't sure if the high bleach content might somehow degrade the mesh cover.

    Thanks for the reply

would be a good idea to get it started, but don't add large amounts of chlorine until the cover is off as you will damage the cover if this was done repeatedly over time. chlorine is a gas and will affect the cover.

I would not shock until the cover was off either, I mainly just start clearing up the cloudy water using the filter and regular doses of chlorine so algea does not start growing.

Decided to leave on until Memorial Day when KIDS decided it was time to go in - thank god for heaters - plus I'm my electric company's favorite customer now!
